New hotel gadgetry
We’re living in a wired (and wireless) world, and it’s pretty amazing what you can get in a hotel room these days. Here are two interesting options I just heard about from publicist SuJin Oh, who’s plugged in to hotel trends.
Remote controls that operate everything from the guestroom curtains to the TV and thermostat are all the rage at high-end hotels. She says the famed The Dolder Grand in Zurich, reopened in April after a four-year, $450 million transformation, is the first hotel in the world to have the new Beo5 by Bang & Olufsen remote, and put it in all 173 guestrooms and suites.
She says it allows guests to control all audio-visual equipment in their rooms, plus curtains, blinds, lighting and room temperature, at the touch of a button.
